Below is the best video interview on social media, branding, and overall marketing strategy I’ve seen all year. In fact, it may be the best I’ve ever seen. Content is the focus, here.
Deanna Brown, CEO, Federated Media Publishing, and Brian Solis discuss some of the central issues that define the struggles all marketers and business face related to the democratized web. By democratized, I mean the prolific, ubiquitous, and omnipresent web that spans everywhere. Everyone has a say. However, not everyone is listening or engaging. To truly engage your customer marketing must be based on a strategy that places the brand message within the correct context. Content may help search, but without context it may not help the customer or the brand. Context, content, messaging, objectives, branding, the story, and cutting through the clutter all tie in to this critical approach.
I love this interview. It’s a game changer. It speaks for itself and there is little I can add to its brilliance and practical application. Watch it. Learn. Apply. Listen. Do. Find your context, then, create your content based on what it means to truly engage your customer:
Brian Solis is the best. The quality of his content (always in context), and the depth of his understanding is remarkable. He asks the right questions-a gift of context.
In the right context, someday I would love to meet both these thought leaders…
