“We simply don’t miss.” That’s the CEO of Herman Miller talking in the video below. Four words that resonate in your brain. Sure, Herman Miller is a large manufacturer of high quality office seats. I’m sitting on one now and I love it. It saves both my back and my butt. But, there is far more to Herman Miller than just chairs [pun intended]. They have a process for not missing in manufacturing and also in marketing. They tell their story and it impacts the process from the worker to the customer.
Think about it. What do cars and office chairs have in common? Both little and a lot. You sit in a car and you sit in an office chair. You spend a lot of time in an office chair and you spend a lot of time in a car, thus they have to be comfortable and a “home away from home,” so to speak. The chair connection, yes. But it goes much deeper than sitting and driving.
