Quality, speed, and price are all factors you have to consider when selecting a marketing consultant, or any service provider. If you want speed only, quality will suffer because there may not be enough time to produce the best copy or best advice. If you’re shopping for the lowest price, a consultant with fewer clients and qualifications is often what your business must settle for.
The best consultants often have a waiting list of clients. I do. As my consulting reputation grows, my new clients (if I have time to take them on), may have to wait. I can’t “stop everything” to help. You often have to get in line and wait, but the end result is that your business gets results because you were patient.
Bob Bly’s video below offers some great advice regarding the balance of Quality, Speed, and price when you’re selecting a service provider:
If you need marketing help “yesterday,” be patient. The best services often come to those who wait. Quality is the key ingredient of professional patience. If you need to good marketing consultant he or she may not be waiting on the phone or the other end of their inbox for your contact. They will be busy servicing clients and creating the quality that generates demand for their skill and expertise.
Hurry up and wait plus a low price often means the overall project may take longer. This principle applies to all of life and business marketing. In our instant, always on world, patience is a virtue. Yes, projects need to be done quickly, but we must ask ourselves at what cost?
