Take An Internet Vacation
Taking a vacation from the internet, or an internet vacation, is critical for clearing the mind. I’ve spent weeks in Montana camping, hiking, and visiting historical sites I’ve wanted to see for years. Ever been to Little Bighorn? Custer’s Last Stand is fascinating. I was also void of both social media and the internet for most of those two weeks. Sure, I missed the social media and info interaction, but it was also refreshing and gave me some new ideas.
So take a break from the internet and social media at least a few times per year. You will not regret it. Besides, if you don’t, you may just miss the following:
Stop. No online activity. Listen. Learn. The non-digital world still exists and is waiting for us to rediscover it. We often forget both its silence and beauty. In fact, we will appreciate the digital world more if we take an internet vacation and absorb nature rather than web pages and banner ads. Let your mind flush out the static flood of content. Clean it out then return to the digital world from the other world. They both will compliment each other but you have to take an internet vacation to make or better said, let that happen.
