Your customer is visiting and trying to read your homepage. His name is ET and he’s phoning Home. Home Page, that is. Except now ET has a smartphone. Without the right website design, ET can’t easily read or navigate your Home Page. Help ET. He needs a Home. He needs your products.
Chances are you’re reading this post on a smartphone or iPad, but are you doing smart marketing? Smart small business marketing in 2013 means taking full advantage of smartphone and tablet search growth. Over fifty percent of all internet searches are now done on smartphones or tablets. Taking advantage of this trend is an essential ingredient of effective marketing strategy. No smartphone-friendly website, no marketing.
Moving from Blackberry to an iPhone over one year ago ignited my imagination. I’ve reaped the benefits in both social media followers and increased website visitors and page views. However, the personal shift was not enough. It was one small step for my social media yet one giant leap for the Atkins Marketing Solution’s website. As a result, my WordPress website and blog recently changed to a responsive theme design. Simple, functional, and smartphone/tablet-friendly. If you’re reading this post, chances are you’re doing it on either a smartphone or iPad. With a responsive design it’s responsive to the device. For example, just click the “Reader” option and it makes it even easier to read this post.
“Responsive,” you ask? Yes. By changing my website to a responsive theme design, my site automatically knows if a visitor arrives via smartphone, tablet, or PC, and then adjusts accordingly. If your website is not mobile or tablet friendly, visitor experience suffers. Sales also suffers. It’s tough to read and navigate. In fact, with such explosive search growth in the mobile space, having a responsive site is critical to remain competitive. The best content and products in the world can’t help your customer if he or she can’t read it!
Don’t miss customers by missing how they search. Make sure your website includes a responsive design capability. Visit my site from your smartphone and you’ll see what I mean. And, if you need a referral to a responsive WordPress designer, give me a call or a write and I can help.
Make sure ET can “smartphone Home.” Mobile is making its mark so make sure ET, your customer, gets Home.
Let me know when ET gets home…
